It’s important to be accepting of all emotions and allow them to exist, even if they’re uncomfortable. You can learn that sitting with difficult emotions are safe and not dangerous. It is safe and tolerable.

Sometimes, feelings can be overwhelming and being able to cultivate compassion can help us navigate through the difficult emotions. A few helpful strategies for sitting with difficult emotions include:
????Labeling the emotion
????Being aware of the emotion in your body

When you approach emotions with judgment and lack of acceptance, it can actually make us feel more stuck in the emotion. Acceptance means allowing uncomfortable feelings to be present without trying to push them away. You can acknowledge that what you’re feeling is difficult and remind yourself that it will be okay. You don’t have to like it, but you can make space for it.

Some ways to practice non-judgment and self-compassion are as follows:
❤️Practice mindfulness
❤️Talk to yourself like you would talk to a friend in pain
❤️Allow all sensations, thoughts, feelings, and urges
❤️Ask yourself what you need in the moment
